Sammy K. French 70, of South Shore, KY., went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH. He was born November 20, 1946 in Portsmouth, OH., a son of the late Dana French.

Sam was a member of the South Shore First Church of God, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, Retired from North American Refractories in South Shore, KY., played football and graduated from McKell High School. He loved Dirt Track Racing, UK Basketball but most of all being a grandfather to all of his grandkids.

Besides his mother he is preceded in death by one sister Terri Hixson.

Surviving are his wife Sue Ellen Hunt French whom he married April 6, 1968, one daughter Amy (Greg) Dillow of South Shore, KY., two sons Robert (Becky) French of South Shore, KY. and Andy (Haley) French of Wheelersburg, OH., one sister Judy (Butch) Osborne of Columbus, OH., seven grandchildren Kelsey Dillow, Abbey Dillow, Cole French, Connor French, Case French, Paisley French and Preslee French. There are several other nieces, nephews, family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral Services will be 12 P.M. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the South Shore First Church of God 187 Main Street in South Shore, KY., with Rev. Acy Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Friends may call at the Church Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Thursday. Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., are in charge of arrangements.
