James R. (Jim Bob) Osman, 83, of South Shore, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home, Oct. 19, 2019. He was born in Manchester, Ohio, Oct. 30, 1935, a son of the late Laurel Osman and Doris Queen Osman. Jim Bob was owner/operator of the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky since 1958, member of the Sunshine United Methodist Church, board member of First and Peoples Bank and Trust, member of the Gideon’s International, member of the South Shore Volunteer Fire Dept. and South Shore Rotary Club. He loved buying and selling cows at the Flemingsburg stockyard and enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Jim Bob attended Morehead State University, Graduated from Kentucky School of Embalming in 1956.
Preceded in death besides his parents are one brother, Jack Osman.
Surviving are his wife, Melba Buck Osman to whom he married in 1955, after meeting her at Butler State Park in Carrollton, Kentucky, four daughters, Melodi Stamper of Dallas,Texas, Mala (Jeff) Munn of Elgin, South Carolina, Marisa Osman, Millicent Osman, one son, Jimbo (Kim) Osman all of South Shore, Kentucky, six grandchildren, Lauren Ommanney, Lindsay Eichler, Madison Thomas, Bo (Lauren) Osman, Ben and Zack Osman.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 at the Sunshine United Methodist Church with Rev. Norman Potter and Rev. Ken Southgate, officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens, Black Oak,Kentucky. Friends may call at the Sunshine United Methodist Church from 12 p.m till 8 p.m. on Monday Oct. 21, 2019 and from 11 a.m. till the Funeral hour on Tuesday. Serving as Pallbearers with be his friends, Pete Peveto, Phil Brown, Raymond Lawson, Kenny Taylor, Jim Timberlake and Bill Bentley.

Kenny is in his 60th year of service to Roberson Funeral Home. He remembers as a young boy getting of the school bus here and going to work for Jim Bob Osman. Thinking back he laughs over learning how to drive in a 1962 Ford flower van.
He is a graduate of McKell High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and is retired from the North American Refactories.
He is the current Chief of the South Shore Volunteer Fire Department, where he has served them for 60 years as well.
He is the son of the late Paul and Darlene Taylor. Kenny and his wife Debbie have one son Justin and their daughter-in-law, Mary, along with a granddaughter, Lexie, that they love spending time with.

David Kevin Angel, son of Gary and Carolyn Angel, has worked in the funeral service since 1989. In his youth Kevin attended and graduated primary and high school in Lewis County Kentucky. He then graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1992. Upon graduation Kevin obtained his Embalmer and Funeral Director License for both Kentucky and Ohio. Kevin is also maintaining a Career as a Laboratory Technician at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth Ohio. He is A Kentucky Colonel and a 37-year member of the Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 in South Shore, Kentucky. Kevin is married to Rayetta Sartin Angel, together they are blessed with five children and twelve grandchildren.

Paul serves as a Funeral Director Apprentice with Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home and has been with us for over 4 years. Paul is married to Jana Beth Royster, they have 3 grown children and 4 grandsons. He is a resident of Lloyd, KY and a 1979 graduate of Greenup County High School.
Paul retired as Command Sergeant Major from the U.S. Army after 31 years and worked as a JROTC Instructor at Ashland Paul Blazer High School for 5 years.
