William A. Kouns, 71, of Lloyd, Kentucky, passed away, June 27, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, May 12, 1949, a son of the late Bill and Mary Alice Harr Kouns. Bill was a retired school teacher, bus driver and was a former pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, he also attended the Church of God, Second and Cecil Robbins Drive, South Shore, Kentucky.
Preceded in death besides his parents are one brother, Chuck Kouns.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Madden Kouns, five sons, William Cory Kouns, Jeffrey Ryan Kouns, JJ Fletcher, Jon Brumfield and Adam Brumfield, two daughters Sydney Fletcher and Stephanie Adkins, siblings, Bob (Diane) Kouns of Maloneton, Ky, Dana Hickle of South Shore, Ky, Chester (Patricia) Kouns of South Shore, Ky, Fonteen (Ron) Nelson of West Portsmouth, OH and Beverly Rose Dalton of South Shore, KY, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, with Rev. Kenneth W. Potter, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. till the service hour on Thursday.
