Luther Delmar Lyons

Luther Delmar Lyons, 91, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away, May 4, 2022 at his residence. Luther was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, May 3, 1931, a son of the late Arnold Lyons and Mary Elizabeth Leadingham Bertram. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired welder from the CSX Railroad, and had a lifelong love for farming.

Preceded in death besides his parents are four sisters, Opal Mills, Nellie Fisher, Mary Culberhouse and Judy Barker, and son-in-law, Mark Elliott.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Lyons, five children, Pam (David) Sorrells of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; Angela Elliott of South Shore, Kentucky; Stephen (Christina Jo) Lyons of South Shore, Kentucky; Barbie (Eric) LeMaster of South Shore, Kentucky; Jamie (Bruce) Hunt of South Shore, Kentucky; one brother, Paul Lyons of Garrison, Kentucky; one sister, Bulafaye Wilburn of Greenup; Kentucky, grandchildren, Anthony Sorrells, Alexandre, Adam and Major LeMaster; Iralyn, Kolby and Carter Hunt; and one great-grandchild, Tyler Sorrells.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Harold Dupuy, officiating. Burial will follow in the Luther Lyons Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon till the service hour at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Military graveside services will be by the James Dickey American Legion Post 23, Portsmouth, Ohio.
