Lewis Gene Robirds

Lewis (Gene) Robirds, 87, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away July 4, 2018 at Portsmouth Health and Rehab in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born July 20, 1930 in Siloam, Kentucky, a son of the late Lewis Walter Robirds and Goldie Patton Robirds. Gene was part owner of the Country Music Hall in New Boston, Ohio. His talent and love of Country music afforded him the opportunity to play with many legendary country musicians. He was also an avid motorcyclist, storyteller extraordinaire, and loved nothing more than a grand adventure and most of all his family.

Preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Robirds, two sisters, Gladys Craft and Joeline Robirds.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Maxine Robirds to whom he married, August 2, 1950, one son, Dale (Naomi) Robirds of Wheelersburg, Ohio, one daughter, Debbie (Bob) Gilpin of Portsmouth, Ohio, brother in law, Cleo Adams of Hamilton, Ohio, sister in law, Julinia Robirds of South Shore, Kentucky, special friend, Barb Brannon, five grandchildren, Shelley (Jeff) Bradley, Josh Robirds, Ryan (Tera) Robirds, Joshua (Darien) Corns and Ryan (Amanda) Corns, one great granddaughter, Bri’Lynn Corns and great grandson, Jett Thompson and many other family and friends that will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Sam Bradley, officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 3 P.M. till 5 P.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 and one hour before the service time on Sunday.
