Gary Lee Thompson

Gary Lee Thompson, 78, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away, Dec. 24, 2018 in St. Mary’s Cornerstone in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born in Greenup County, KY, Oct. 19, 1940, a son of the late George William Thompson and Gladys Opal Stephenson. Gary worked at the Greenup County Detention Center as Deputy Jailer, South Shore Police Department and for MPC Inc., West Wood, KY.

Preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Benson.

Surviving are his wife, Molly Thompson to whom he married, Oct. 28, 1961, four sons, Dwayne Thompson of South Shore, KY, Randy (Daisy) Thompson of Vanceburg, KY, Mark Thompson of South Shore, KY and David (Karen) Thompson of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, one brother, Dean (Diane) Thompson of South Point, Ohio, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY with Brother Clayton Oliver, officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Branch Cemetery, Greenup, KY. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 till 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 and from 11 a.m. till the service time on Saturday.
