Charlotte Elaine Howerton

Charlotte E. Howerton, 72, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away, Oct. 10, 2021 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio due to Covid-19 complications. She was born in Dayton, Kentucky, Aug. 25, 1949, a daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Burchfield Barrett. She was a member of the Hilltop Lighthouse Church in South Portsmouth, Kentucky

Preceded in death by her husband, Danny Howerton to whom she married, Feb. 10, 1968, one daughter, Teresa Howerton Holbrook, one brother, James Arlen Lewis.

Surviving are two daughters, Gwen (Brian) McCoy, Stephanie Howerton Jones both of South Shore, Kentucky, two sisters, Evalena Gibson of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Barbara Jean Maas of Finlay, Ohio, grandchildren, Bethany (Scott) Stephenson of Largo, Florida, Breann (Robert Lovely) Holbrook of West Portsmouth, Ohio, Jacob Jones of South Shore, Kentucky, Kennedy McCoy of South Shore, Kentucky and Brooklyn Bailey of South Shore, Kentucky, great-grandchildren, Kirra Stephenson and Kaelyn Stephenson both of Largo, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with Pastor Rodney Evans, officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
