Yvonne L. Hammond, 74 of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away April 20, 2023 in SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born in Portsmouth, Jan. 9, 1949, a daughter of the late Encle Pollitt and Belva Shepherd Pollitt.

Preceded in death besides her parents are her husband, Charles L Hammond, son, Billy Crain, one brother, Phillip Pollitt.

Surviving are her significant other, James Hughes of Portsmouth, children, Vicky Lacy of Newark, Ohio, Tammy (Gary) McDaniel of South Shore, Kentucky and Ricky (Cindy) Crain of Portsmouth, Ohio, brother, Encle (Penny) Pollitt Jr. of Sciotoville, Ohio, Phyllis (Ellis) Gallion of Sciotoville, Ohio, grandchildren, Dustin Lewis, Jackie Lewis, Zack Ward, Nicky Ward and James Crain, several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Kenneth W. Potter, officiating. Burial will follow in the Quillen Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 6 till 8 p.m. and one hour before the service time on Tuesday.
