Wayne M. Dowdy, 79 of South Shore, Kentucky passed away Nov. 12, 2013 in Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born  January 3, 1934 on Flat Hollow in South Shore, Kentucky, a son of the late William and Grace Williams Dowdy. Preceded in death by his second wife, Denise Boggs Dowdy, one son, David "Duke" Dowdy, a granddaughter, Chantelle Dowdy, four brothers, Leo, Paul, Jim Bob and Dee Dowdy, one sister, Nettie Hayden. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Conley Dowdy, three daughters, Teresa Craycraft, Charmaine Kennard and Nikki Wright all of South Shore, Kentucky, two sons, Butch Dowdy and Mark Dowdy both of South Shore, Kentucky, one sister, Judy Lewis of South Shore, Kentucky, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services 1 P.M. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at the Old Regular Baptist Church, 721 Main Street,  South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Norman Potter, officiating. Burial in MT. Zion Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the church,  Friday  from 11 A.M. till the Funeral hour at 1 P.M. Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky are in charge of arrangements.
