Walter H. Harr, 94, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away Feb. 28, 2017 in South Shore Nursing and Rehab Center in South Shore, Kentucky. He was born in Greenup County, KY, Jan. 23, 1923, a son of the late Benjamin Harr and Anna Lawson Harr. Mr. Harr was a WW II United States Army Veteran and a member of the Sunshine United Methodist Church, retired forklift operator from C.E. Refractories.
Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine H. Harr, Jan. 31, 2006, three sisters, Stella Warnock, Garnett Pollitt and Hazel Fraley, five brothers, Frank, Thurman, Edward, Raymond and Floyd.
Surviving are two sons, David (Janice) Harr, Bill (Carol) Harr both of South Shore, Kentucky, two brothers, Brady Harr of Columbus, Ohio, Ronnie Harr of South Shore, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Mike Harr, Anissa Harr, Matt Harr and Ashley Wellman, four great grandchildren, Cole and Wyatt Wellman and Alex and Andrew Harr.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Charles Mallory and Rev. Raymond Lewis, officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 till 8 P.M. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 and from 11 A.M. till the Funeral hour on Friday.
Military graveside services will be by the James Dickey American Legion Post #23, Portsmouth, Ohio.
