Violet Chaffin, 88 of South Shore, Kentucky went to be with her Lord, Dec. 27, 2014 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born in Maloneton, Kentucky, Nov. 27, 1926, a daughter of the late James Webb and Nellie Perry Webb, a member of the Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church in South Shore, Kentucky and attended Bennet's Chapel United Methodist Church, also attended the former Maloneton Christian Holiness Church at Maloneton, Kentucky. Surviving are one daughter, Judy "Mike" Dowdy of South Shore, Kentucky, five grandchildren, Lisa "Steve" VanBibber, Bobbi Ann Chaffin, Kara "Kevin" Howard, Heather "Nathaniel" Harris and Erin "Jeff" Duduit, eleven great grandchildren, Erika, Eli, Emma, Lincoln, Cooper, Abigail, Madison, Kendall, Jaxson, Hayden and Reese, daughter in law, Carolyn Chaffin and a special friend and sister in law, Joyce Gilliam. Preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Chaffin, May 9, 1986, one son, Robert Chaffin III, one sister, Barbara Boggs and two brothers, Herman Webb and James Webb. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at the Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Jack Woods, officiating. Burial will follow in Chaffin Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Church from 6 till 8 P.M. Tuesday Dec. 30, 2014 and from 9 A.M. till the funeral hour on Wednesday.
