Vernon Ray Stapleton, 36, of South Shore, KY passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at SOMC. He was born October 27, 1977 in Portsmouth, OH. Vern was the beloved son of Vernon Lee Stapleton and Ellen Kemplin (Farley), both of South Shore, KY. Vernon R. was a supervisor/operator/laborer at Tunneling & Grouting, Plus; a family-owned company owned by Vernon L. Stapleton. Vernon R. is survived by one son, Karter Ray Stapleton; his father, Vernon L. Staplteon; his mother, Ellen Kemplin; his step mother Natalya Stapleton,  his maternal grandparents, Guy "Hansel" and Jettie Farley, and Maxine Gyurik; his sister, Crystal (Stapleton) Fritz; his half-sister, Victoria Kemplin; two nephews, Ethan Brown and Brody Barker; three nieces, Daisy Barker, Kallista Barker, and Ashton Kinsler.  Vernon R. was also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, and several life-long friends. Vern cherished every moment spending time with his precious son Karter and with his Family and many friends! He was a 1996 graduate of Greenup County High School and served time in the United States Air Force. He Enjoyed watching Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and Ohio State Football. Visitation will be held at Little White Oak Chapel, on Monday, March 10, 2014, from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. in South Portsmouth, KY.  Funeral Services will be held at Little White Oak Chapel, on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 1 p.m with Rev.
