Verna Lee Vanderpool, 83, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, went to be with her lord, Friday, July 10, 2015 in Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born in Pound, Virginia, Feb. 6, 1932 a daughter of the late Vernon C. Maxwell and Bertha M. Mullins Maxwell. She was a member of the South Portsmouth Church of God, South Portsmouth, Kentucky and a retired secretary, homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a sister. Survivng are her husband, Jarvis E. Vanderpool Jr., one son, Jarvis Vanderpool of Jacksonville, Arkansas, one daughter, Lynne Murray of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, one sister, Carol Hardin of Charlotte, North Carolina, three grandchildren, Wesley Murray, Jenna Smith and Tyler Vanderpool, two great grandchildren, Gavin Smith and Kylee Murray. Memorial services will be held at the Roberson Funeral Home, Sunday, July 19, 2015, with Dr. Greg Hudson, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
