Verna Marie Callihan, 90, of South Shore, KY went to be with her Lord August 11, 2014 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY., She was born September 30, 1923 in New Boston, OH a daughter of the late Mat Carter and Gertrude Easterling. Verna was a Homemaker and a member of Allen Chapel Church of Christ. Preceded in death besides her parents his her husband Clyde Callihan whom passed away November 5, 2006, one daughter Dana Ruth Callihan, one son Stan Callihan, two brothers Paul Carter and Durwood Carter, and one son in law Bruce Williams. Surviving is her daughter Rebecca "Russell" Moore of Ironton, OH., one daughter in law Susan Callihan of Bushnell, Fl., one sister in law Joyce Carter, four Grandsons Rick Callihan, Rob Callihan, Ryan Callihan, and D.J. Williams, eight Great Grandchildren Rodrik, Brayden, Courtney, Chloe, Tyler, Teresa, Randi, and Bailey. Verna is also survived by six Great Great Granchildren, several special nieces, and her faithful kitty Miss B. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Allen Chapel Church of Christ with Ministers Harold Dupuy and David Bentley, officiating. Burial will follow in MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Friends may call at the Church Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. and from 9 A.M. till the funeral hour on Friday. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY.
