Thomas E. Hampton, 75, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born June 26, 1939 in Fullerton, Kentucky, a son of the late Ernest Hampton and Ada V. Allen Hampton, he attended Valley Chapel Christian Baptist Church and a United States Marine Corp. Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Bennett Hampton to whom he married Feb. 15, 1985, one daughter, Marcella Royster of South Shore, Kentucky, two step daughters, Sue Silvey of Vanceburg, Kentucky and Cindy Watkins of South Shore, Kentucky, one son, Russell Hampton of Florida, two step sons, Larry Joe Lumpkins and Terry Lumpkins both of Garrison, Kentucky, one brother, Frank Hampton of Wheelersburg, Ohio, three sisters, Betty Sword, Nettie Hunt and Vicki Farmer all of South Shore, Kentucky, fourteen grandchildren and twenty four great grand grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Hampton and Tony Hampton, step son, Donald Lumpkins.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor William Riggs, officiating. Burial will follow in MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 and from 11 A.M. till the funeral hour on Saturday.
Military graveside services will be by the James Dickey American Legion Post #23 of Portsmouth, Ohio.
