Teddy O'dell Blankenship, 79, of South Portsmouth, KY., passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. He was born July 14, 1937 in Baisden, W. VA., a son of the late Roosevelt and Mary Alice Moore Blankenship. Teddy attended Little White Oak Chapel Church and retired from CSX Railroad. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Louise Gwinn. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Irene Bailey Blankenship who he married December 3, 1960, one son David Blankenship of South Portsmouth, KY., two daughters Dana Pollock of South Shore, KY., and Sherri (Bob) Hurley of Wheelersburg, OH., one brother Ed Blankenship of Apopka, FL., two sisters Donna Cline of South Portsmouth, KY., and Deloris Mullins of Coeburn, VA. Also surviving are three grandchildren Nicole (Branden) Coffee, Kylee Hurley and Tara Pollock. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Dr. Calvin Ray Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery in South Portsmouth, KY. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6 PM till 8 PM and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
