Tammy Sue Hunt Dotson 55, of Siloam, KY., passed quietly away Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY, after a long two year struggle against cancer. Tammy was born in Portsmouth, OH, March 15, 1961 a daughter of the late Donald Hunt and Lucille Snyder Hunt.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and grandparents was one brother, Michael Hunt.
Having lost her mother to cancer when she was not yet five years old, a major part of her upbringing was lovingly provided by her paternal grandparents Leonard and Maude Hunt. In her youth, Tammy studied piano for many years and played flute in the marching band at Wheelersburg High School where she was a graduate in the class of 1979. A variety of jobs followed high school including some good times at The Pit Stop Restaurant and several years at Greenbriar Nursing Home. After leaving Greenbriar, she worked as a delivery driver/manager for Pizza Hut in Wheelersburg, OH. and as a driver at Dominos in both Wheelersburg, OH. and Ashland, KY. You may also have known Tammy from a short time that she was a clerk at Shop Quick Market on Dogwood Ridge.
Tammy loved spending time with her family and she loved her cats. Tammy loved the sun and the beach, watching tv, working in her yard, hiking with her husband, and playing miniature golf. There was a special quality about this girl which cannot be easily described or explained. Tammy's easy manner and lighthearted spirit made her a delight to be near. It truly seemed as if all who came to know her, grew to love her. Tammy is now, and will forever be, dearly missed. Simply put, she was extraordinary.
Surviving are her husband of 15 years James Scott Dotson, one daughter Melissa Stapleton Payton(Chris) of Wheelersburg, OH., three grandchildren(who adored their Grammy), Haylee, Caydin, and Bentlee. Also surviving is one sister Donna Crabtree of Arizona.
It was Tammy's wish that no service be held. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY.
