Shirley M. Cortez, 69, of Sciotoville, Ohio passed away April 30, 2014 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born Dec. 11, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of the late Roscoe Smith and Bonnie Carr Smith. Was a U.S.  Marine Vietnam Veteran. Preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Bailey and Louise McClaskey. Surviving are one son, Christopher Seidelman of Lockport, Illinois, two  daughters, Lynette Seidelman of Sciotoville. Ohio, Melissa Burton of Quincy, Kentucky, five grandchildren, Natalie Seidelman, Erin Kingery, Brent Steele, Alexander Burton and Oliver Burton, two brothers, William Perkins, Roscoe Smith Jr, five sisters, Mary McClaskey, Donna Holcomb, Julia Smith, Shelbajean Gilcrease, Loama Spradlin. Funeral services 11A.M. Monday, May 5, 2014 at the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Norman Potter, officiating. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North East, Grayson, Kentucky. Friends may call at the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. on Sunday May 4, 2014 and from 9 A.M. till the funeral hour on Monday.
