Samuel "Hank" Rowland, 90 of Argillite, Kentucky passed away March 28, 2023 in St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born on Leatherwood, Kentucky, Jan. 17, 1933, a son of the late Charles Kent Rowland and Mary Elizabeth Kouns.

Preceded in death besides his parents are one brother, Harold Eugene Rowland, sisters, Allie Marie Covert, Olive Lewis, Flo Shaw.

Surviving are his special friend of 30 years, Helen Meadows of Argillite, Kentucky, children, Donald K. Rowland of Lucasville, Charles W. Rowland of South Shore, Deward G. Rowland, Cincinnati, Della E. Runyon of Portsmouth and Connie M. Rudd of Lucasville, sister, Elma Stephenson of Portsmouth, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Nathaniel Rowland, officiating. Burial will follow in Collier Memorial Gardens and South Portsmouth. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Monday.
