Robert Lewis Pope, 81, of Garrison, KY., passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Carter County, KY., May 28, 1936 a son of the late James and Hattie McDowell Pope.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Shelby Royster Pope whom passed away June 8, 2000, one son Christopher Clay Pope, one brother James Pope, two sisters Myrtle Wilburn and Lorroine Weller.

Surviving are his wife Eliza Wilburn Pope, four sons James Robert Pope, Arthur (Joyce) Pope, Keith (Debra) Pope  and Brian (Vonnie) Pope all of South Shore, KY., three step daughters Angie (Jim) Byrd of Wheatland, WY.,  Linda (Carl) Madden of Garrison, KY., and Sinda (Gary) Lewis of Olive Hill, KY., three brothers Donald Pope, Gary Pope both of Grayson, KY., and Charles Pope of Garrison, KY., five sisters Gladys Wilburn, Mary Carper, Faye Harlow all of Grayson, KY., Christine Bolland of OH., and Donna Utley of Winchester, KY. Robert also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several other family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Pastor Gary Vaughn and Pastor Roy Runyon officiating. Burial will follow at Grizzell Cemetery in Greenup, KY. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 9 A.M. until the service hour on Wednesday.
