Rhonda Rena Nunley, 40, of South Shore, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. She was born April 21, 1973, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Rhonda was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. She was president of Greenup County Habitat for Humanity, was a case manager for the Greenup County Board of Education, was secretary of the Greenup County Drug Free Coalition and active in many other community organizations. She was preceded in death by three grandparents, Elby E. Keen, Eugene Nickel and Ruth (Powell) Nickel. She is survived by her husband, Shane Nunley; two sons, Byron Nunley (8) and Carter Nunley (4), all of South Shore; her parents, Ronald and Connie Keen Nickel of South Shore; two sisters, Sherri (Aaron Tice) Nickel of Ashland and Kimberly (Brett) Newland of Greenup; her grandmother, Bette (Cartee) Keen of South Shore; a nephew, Braxton Newland; and a friend, Trent Tice. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at South Shore First Christian Church by Jim Montgomery. Burial will be at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore.
