IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randall
Royster
August 16, 1963 – October 25, 2022
We are all saddened to know Randall Eugene Royster, age 59, born August 16th, 1963, that his body has finally given up. He fought a long, hard battle without complaint and admirably with the grace of a saint.
Randall loved his children unconditionally and was very dedicated to them as they were to him. It was evident in the way they helped him cope with the trials that daily life often brought.
He appreciated music and loved to sing. Everyone knew he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket....except for him! It made no difference because he didn't sing to entertain, he sang for the meaning of the words and message to those that listened. One of his favorites was Hank Williams, Jr.'s "Family Tradition" especially when it came to the part, "Rockin Randall". Ask any of his family members and everyone knows of at least one of his special songs that they will cherish and will remind them of him every time they hear it and sing along.
He was a people watcher that never judged anyone, ever. He spoke very few words even though he was a deep thinker. He was an honest man. If you asked him a question that he didn't want to tell you the truth for whatever reason, well, he just wouldn't answer, instead he would give you one of his "looks", because he would never lie, no matter what! But his eyes and facial expression spoke volumes. For instance, he loved to tease and joke all the time. When he was being mischievous, you could definitely see the twinkle in his eye and that little grin he couldn't control, would always give him away.
He was his mother's favorite and everyone knew it. He would let her say or do whatever but he always did what he wanted, without a harsh word or malice. She cared for him as only a mother can. When he was 11 years old, she found a pack of cigarettes in his room. She called him out and told him not to sneak around and smoke because she was afraid he would set the house on fire. She thought it would make him throw them away. However, in true Randall fashion, he walked straight into his bedroom, got his cigarettes and lighter, walked back in the living room where she was, sat in the arm chair, crossed his legs and lit up his cigarette! Even funnier, he didn't even know how to hold the cigarette yet!
He will be greatly missed by his survivors....Children: Chris Royster, Andrew Royster, Tiffany Johnson; granddaughter, Kaylee Johnson; mother, Thelma Royster; sisters: Barbara Lewis (Roy), Libby Wilson (Ken). He is preceded by his father, Ithel Royster and brother, Michael Royster.
