Paul Gyurik Jr., 85, of South Portsmouth, Ky., passed away June 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 14, 1928 a son of the late Paul Gyurik Sr., and Verna "Recicar" Gyurik.
He was a member of the Little White Oak Chapel Church, James L. Flannery American Legion post #276 and he was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was in three wars, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by two brothers George Gyurik, and Steve Gyurik, one step brother Red Ficco, two sisters Mary Azar and Helen Gyurik also one step son Danny Ray Brumfield.
Surviving is his wife Maxine "Mounts" Gyurik of South Portsmouth, Ky., one son George "Carolyn" Gyurik of Morehead, Ky., one daughter Paulette Gyurik of South Portsmouth, Ky., one step son Charles Brumfield of Colorado, one step daughter Ellen Kemplin of South Shore, Ky., three grandchildren Khalee Gyurik, Adam Gyurik, Cara Plank and one great grandchild Mason Fultz.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Little White Oak Chapel Church in South Portsmouth Ky., with Rev. Donnie Smith, officiating. Burial will be in Blankenship Cemetery in South Portsmouth, Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. and at the Church from noon till the funeral hour on Wednesday.
