Ollie Ray Hammond, 78, of Firebrick, Kentucky passed away, Aug. 3, 2016 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born in Firebrick, Kentucky, Feb. 23, 1938, a son of the late Ernest Hammond and Cora Mae Blankenbeckley Hammond, member of the Firebrick Christian Baptist Church, retired Carpenter from Local #473, Ashland, Kentucky. Preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Hammond and Ralph Hammond, Douglas Hammond and James Hammond, five sisters, Dollie Wireman, Lucy Hernadez, Anna Mary Bentley, Thelma Hammond and Frances Hammond. Surviving are Jane Franklin Hammond to whom he married Jan. 2, 1955, three sons, Tony Hammond of Firebrick, Kentucky, Kevin Hammond of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, Douglas Hammond of Firebrick, Kentucky, one brother, William Hammond, Firebrick, Kentucky, one grandson, Vincent. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Raymond Lewis, officiating. Burial will follow in Firebrick, Cemetery, Firebrick, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 till 8 P.M. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016 and from 11 A.M. till the Funeral hour at 1 on Saturday.
