Obituary

Norman Dale Cox, 88, of Portsmouth, Ohio went to be with his Lord Friday, February 6, 2015 in Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born March 17, 1926 in Firebrick, KY, a son of the late Daniel Cox and Melva Carpenter-Cox. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Portsmouth, Ohio, a retired Pharmacistand the former owner of Dale's Pharmacy, a WWII Army Air Force Veteran, a former 5th Ward Councilman and a member of Aurora Masonic Lodge #48 of Portsmouth, Ohio. He was a past member of the Elks Club, the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce as well as the past president of the Ohio Pharmacist Association. He was also an avid golfer, a table tennis player and was a UK and Ohio State fan. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Lee Cox on April 26, 2013; one sister Freda Cox and one brother Bobby Cox. Surviving is one son Michael Cox of Philadelphia, PA; two daughters Sally Barber of Williamsburg, OH and Peggy McLoughlin of Olathe, KS; one brother Terry Cox of Gallipolis, OH; one sister Marcella Padan of Missouri; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY with Rev. Richard North officiating. Burial will be in Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, KY. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at 1:00pm on Wednesday. There will be Military Graveside Rites by the James Dickey American Legion Post #23 of Portsmouth, Ohio. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.robersonfuneral.com
