Michael Matthew Bender, 53 of West Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away Sept. 26, 2021 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born in Portsmouth, Oct. 2, 1967, a son of Wanda Meade Bender and the late Ralph Bender.

Preceded in death besides his father are one son, Zachary Bender.

Surviving are his wife, Julie Bender, children, Molly (Patrick Cotton) Bender of Piketon, Ohio, Sarah Bender of Piketon, Haley Stapleton of West Portsmouth and Alexis Stapleton of West Portsmouth, daughter in law, Brooke Bender, mother, Wanda Bender of Portsmouth, brothers, Ralph Steven Bender of Piketon, Jeffrey Eldon Bender of Lucasville, David Paul Bender of Lucasville and William Lee Bender of Lucasville, grandchildren, Kenzlee Cotton, Levi Bender, Aleaha Bender and Joseph Zapf.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Darrel Buck Musick, officiating. Burial will follow in Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, Kentucky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
