Mel Royster, 70 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away at his residence. Jan. 28, 2023. He was born in Keho, Kentucky, Sept. 16, 1952, son of the late Floyd Royster and Emma Royster. Mel was a member of the Church of Christ, avid OSU Buckeye fan and a member of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge #769, West Portsmouth, Ohio.

Preceded in death besides his parents are two brothers, David and Ted Royster.

Surviving are the love of his life, Ann Shelley, son, Calvin Royster of Chillicothe, Ohio, daughters, Melody (Jason) Basye of Waverly, Ohio and Kellie (Matt) Maynard of Florida, one brother, Bart Manuel of West Portsmouth, Ohio, two sisters, Janet Parson of South Shore, Kentucky and Faye (Roy) Marcum of Stout, Ohio, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Mike D. Skaggs, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grizzel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
