Mary S. Brown of West Portsmouth, OH., passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in South Portsmouth, KY., October 24, 1940 a daughter of the late James and Beulah Pickle Aills.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Sherman "Bill" R. Brown; a loving friend Walter Porter; three grandchildren, Misty Scalf, Steven Scalf JR and Uriah Brown; two brothers and one sister.

Left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sharon L. Brown Scalf of New Boston, OH., and Stella L. Brown Pennington of West Portsmouth, OH; two sons, Sherman W. Brown of Turtletown, TN., and James L. Brown of Portsmouth, OH; four grandchildren, Stacy, Randy, Daniel and Brittney; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Tristan, Austin, Dylan, Emma and several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., are caring for arrangements.
