Mary A. Bentley, 85 of Portsmouth, OH., passed away November 6, 2014 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in Firebrick, KY., February 5, 1929 a daughter of the late Ernest Hammonds and Cora Mae Blankenbeckley Hammonds. Mary was a member of the North Morland Christian Baptist Church in Portsmouth, OH. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Bentley, one daughter Velena Timberlake, one sister Lucy Hernandez, two brothers Charles Hammonds and Ralph Hammon. Surviving are three daughters Monica (Curt) White of Zebulon, NC., Carlotta Mazza of Raleigh, NC., and Serena (Richard) Scifres of Portsmouth, OH., one sister Dollie Wireman of Portsmouth, OH., two brothers William (Anita) Hammond  and Ollie (Jane) Hammond both of Firebrick, KY. Mary is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Monday, November 10, 2014 at North Morland Christian Baptist Church, 1910 Harrisonville AVE (RT 139) Portsmouth, OH. 45662 with Rev. Paul Hagen,  officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Friends may call at the Church Monday, November 10, 2014 from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
