Margie Diane Sparks, 57, of South Shore, Kentucky went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 in Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born June 6, 1957 in Portsmouth, Ohio a daughter of the late William L. Welty and Mary M. Denning-Welty. She was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in Columbus, Ohio as an Officer in Contract Sales, she was of the Christian Faith and had worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation for thirty five years and she dearly loved all of her co-workers. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Welty and David Welty; two sisters Carolyn Welty and Judy Sexton. Surviving are her husband Clyde Sparks to whom she married on Dec. 23, 1996; two step sons Donny Sparks and Clyde Sparks both of South Shore; one step daughter Jennifer Sparks of South Shore; two brothers John R. Welty of Wheelersburg and Richard K. Welty of TN; three sisters Janet McGlone and Donna Wilburn both of Portsmouth and Karren S. Sexton of New Albany, Ohio as well as seven grandchildren Michael Mercer, Donny Sparks, Jr., Jacob Sparks, Clyde Sparks, III, Christian Mercer, Isaac Sparks and Lacy Dowland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY with Pastor William Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery in Friendship, Ohio.
