Mahala Dayne Jefferson, 64, of Orange Park, FL., passed away July 10, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Portsmouth, OH., March 23, 1959 a daughter of the Greta (Billy) Luper of Orange Park, FL., and the late Donald Hunt.

Along with her father she is preceded in death by one son, Michael Kennedy; two brothers, Kent Hunt and Dwight Hunt.

Left behind to cherish her memory along with her mother are two sons, David (Georgette Yoakem) Kennedy and Denny "Gus" (Jennifer Owen) Sharp both of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Dawn (Lee) Miller of Akron, OH; four grandchildren, Alisha Kennedy, Tyler Kennedy, Brandon Sharp and Joshua Sharp; two nieces, Brandi Wertz, Shanna Seeley; two great-nephews, Cruz Wertz and Paul Seeley. Along with several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Mahala's love for her family has always came first, with a close second of her love for dogs. We will forever miss that beautiful smile.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Lee Miller officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
