Kendall Ray Piatt, 57, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, as a result of an automobile accident on U.S. 23 in South Shore.
Kendall was born May 1, 1957 in a Portsmouth hospital, a son of G. Sam and Bonnie Piatt of Sand Hill, South Shore.
Also surviving are three daughters, Melanie Piatt Estepp (Pat) of Cedarville, Chelsea Rae (Aaron) Piatt of New Boston, and Dawn Nicole Brown-Piatt of Savanah, Ga.; and one son, Elijah Luke Piatt of Wheelersburg.
He is survived by one brother, Kelly Joseph Piatt of South Shore; and one sister, Cindy Sue (Dwight) Cole of South Webster.
He is also survived by five loving grandchildren, Isaiah Estepp, Grant Estepp and Merynn Estepp, all of Cedarville; and Shayde Kindell Piatt and Mercer Hayze Piatt, both of New Boston.
Kendall, who filled the pulpit for ministers on occasion, had a singing ministry that took him into many area churches. There were cases where people came forward to claim Christ as their Savior while hearing him sing.
He sang at weddings and funerals and festivals. He recorded a cassette, "King of Kings," on which he sang several songs he had written, including the title song.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Michael Rice and David Robirds officiating.
Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery.
