Obituary

Juanita Sue Angel, 78 of Quincy, Kentucky passed to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022 at her residence surrounded by the family she loved. She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, May 25, 1944, a daughter of the late Nellie Akers and Elsie Epperson Akers. Juanita loved her family, buying, selling and trading antiques, she would light up any room with her laugh, give anyone the shirt off her back.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Angel, brothers, Orville, Delbert, Mert and Roscoe Akers, sisters, Mary Denny, Shirley Terry, Opal Wilburn, Ruth Riddell, Willa Jean James and Ethel Henderson.

Surviving are five children, Dennis (Jamie Alvarado) Akers of South Portsmouth, KY, Kenny Ashcraft of Garrison, KY, Tammy (Thomas) Ervin of Russells Point, Ohio, Carissa Faye Hamblin of Charleston, SC and Alexis Akers of South Portsmouth, KY, one sister, Elizabeth Carpenter of Hamilton, Ohio, grandchildren, Bradley Akers, Ashley Akers, Michelle, Kenyon, Kendra and Garrett Ashcraft, Aaron and Kayla Ervin, six great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends that will miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Raymond Lewis, officiating. Burial will follow in the Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
