- Joyce Ann Hall, 73, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, answered the call of the Lord, April 25, 2016 in Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born May 17, 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late George Mercer and Emma Brewer Mercer. Preceded in death by a sister, Patty Vanderpool. On July 4, 1982, she came into the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church in South Shore, Kentucky. Then in April 2009 she took her letter of dismission from the Church, which was never laid into any Church. Her husband, Winston "Winnie" Hall, eventually went into United Baptist Church, after turning 14 yrs old in May, she met Winston Hall who had just turned the age of 16 yrs of age. In 1956 they were married on September 1st , making it just shy of 60 yrs of marriage. To this union was born two daughters, Neketta Ann Pollard of Lucasville, Ohio, Leketta Lee Coronel of Orland, Florida, three sons, Winston Jr. of Lucasville, Ohio, Donald Edward of Davenport, Florida and Shawn Scott of Wheelersburg, Ohio, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild with another due in August, four sisters, Bobbi Howerton, Wanda Horton and Brenda Smith all of South Shore, Kentucky, Anita Farhety of Huntington, West Virginia, one brother, Michael Ray Mercer of Wheelersburg, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church in South Shore, Kentucky with Elder Chester Allen and other Baptist ministers, officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church in South Shore, Kentucky from 6 till 9 P.M. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 and one hour before service time Thursday.
