Joseph B. Amburgey, Sr.. 88. of South Shore, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on July 7. 2017 in SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was bom in Blaekey, Kentucky, March 6, 1929, a son of the late William H. Amburgey, Sr. and Ada Francis Amburgey. Joe was a devout Christian and an active member of the South Shore First Church of God, member of Harrison Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 of South Shore, Kentucky for 67 years, a Korean War Veteran and a retired Carman for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lou Hunt Amburgey. April 27, 2017. They were married December 24, 1958. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Hctzel 'Buster" Amburgey, William H. "Bill" Amburgey, Jr., Bumice Amburgey. and two sisters, Anna Ratliff and Maxine See.

Surviving are one son, Joseph B. (Kathy) Amburgey Jr of Wheelersburg, Ohio, one sister, Margaret Sue Evans of South Portsmouth. Kentucky', and one grandson, Joseph B. Amburgey III. He was loved by his family and many friends and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Acy Gibson, officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery. South Shore. Kentucky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11,2017 from 6 till 8 P.M. with Masonic services at 8 P.M. by Harrison Fullerton Lodge #937 of South Shore and from 10 A M. till the Funeral hour at 11 A.M. on Wednesday.

Military graveside services will be by James Dickey American Legion Post 23, Portsmouth, Ohio.
