John Walter Lyons, 85, of Beauty Ridge, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, May 28, 2014 on his farm in Beauty Ridge. He was born in Letitia, Kentucky, Jan. 29, 1929, a son of the late Allie Lyons and Madge Kay Lyons Ingles. Walter retired from C&O Railroad, and was a lifelong hunter, gardener, carpenter, farmer and family man, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of the Allen Chapel Church of Christ. Preceded in death by one sister, Ann Lowder, one brother, Robert Lyons. Surviving are his wife, Lenore Janet Lyons whom he married 60 years ago on March 13, 1954, two daughters, Marsha "Stanley" Roberts of South Shore, Kentucky, Dorma Kay "Chad" Stockham of Minford, Ohio, two sons, John "Nesba" Lyons of South Shore, Kentucky and William "Jessica" Lyons of Hazard, Kentucky, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one brother Ron Lyons of Texas. Funeral services 11 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Allen Chapel Church of Christ with Pastor Harold Dupuy, officiating. Burial in Lyons Cemetery, Beauty Ridge, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Allen Chapel Church of Christ Friday, May 30, 2014 from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M and from 10 A.M. till the Funeral hour on Saturday.
