John Abdon, 80, of Greenup, Kentucky, passed away Oct. 19, 2017 in Grayson, Kentucky. He was born in Greenup County, Kentucky, March 5, 1937, a son of the late Sherman Abdon and Elizabeth Craft Abdon. John was a retired Blacksmith from CSX Railroad, loved being with his family and going to The Red Barn.

Preceded in death by three sons, Gregory Abdon, Chester Abdon and Brian Abdon.

Surviving are his wife, Chloe Lore Abdon to whom he married, Oct. 21, 1955, two sons, Steve Abdon, Roger Dean (Rhonda) Abdon both of Greenup, Kentucky, two daughter, Johnda (Scott) Buckler of Firebrick, Kentucky and Teresa Stewart of Grayson, Kentucky, one sister, Marjorie Potter of South Shore, Kentucky, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Carlos Newman, officiating. Burial will follow in Abdon Cemetery, Greenup, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 till 8 P.M. Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 and one hour before service time on Tuesday.
