Obituary

Jeffery Blaine Walburn, 72, of Greenup, Kentucky, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Community Hospice in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on April 7, 1954, to the late James and Maxine (Bailey) Walburn.

Jeffery proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. After his military service, he worked in security as a Security Inspector at the Atomic Plant in Piketon, Ohio. Following his retirement from that position, he continued to serve others as a nurse.

He had a passion for music and participated in several bands over the years, with his last band being EK Station.

Jeffery is survived by his loving wife, Karen Van Bibber Walburn, of Greenup, Kentucky; one son, Nicholas Walburn (Carrie), of Richmond, Virginia; and three grandchildren: Fiona, Evan, and Monroe Walburn, all of Richmond, Virginia. He is also survived by his brother, James Walburn (Regina), of Sciotoville, Ohio; two sisters, Lois Fields of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Cindy Pennington of St. Augustine, Florida; as well as his music family and friends, who will all greatly miss him.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life to honor Jeffery’s passion for music and family at a later date. Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky, has been entrusted with his arrangements.
