Janet Forbes, 88, of South Shore, KY, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at The Courtyard in Wheelersburg, OH. She was born in South Shore, KY, on July 5, 1937, a daughter of the late Kip and Ruth Hicks Tarr.

Janet was a graduate of McKell High School, retired from BancOhio as a Loan Officer, and a member of the First Baptist Church in South Shore, KY.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Carl Forbes; two sisters, Mary Lou Warner and Patricia Cade; two brother-in-laws, Don Warner and Jack Cade.

Left behind to cherish her memory are three nieces, Lisa Cade of Lexington, KY, Gail Howerton of South Shore, KY, and Jeanie Prince of Wheeling, WV, along with many other cousins, family members, and friends whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to thank The Courtyard in Wheelersburg, OH., and Heartland Hospice for the excellent care that Janet received.

Graveside services will be at 2 P.M. Sunday, August 31, 2025, at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY, with Acy Gibson officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, from 12 P.M. until 1:30 P.M.
