James Richard Maddix,84, of South Shore, KY., went to be with his Lord August 1, 2014 at Shawnee Springs Care Center in Harrison, OH. He was born October 15, 1929 in Greenup County, KY., a son of the late Harve Maddix and Lydia Gray Maddix. He was a retired repairman from Western-Electric Corporation. Preceded in death by his wife Phyllis J. Sparks Maddix, five brothers Wilford Maddix, Willie Maddix, Homer Maddix , Harold Maddix, and Wayne Maddix, two sisters Emma Wells and Sally Jordan. Surviving are his three sons Floyd "Carolyn" Maddix, Chris Maddix both of Cleves, OH., Jimmy Ray Maddix of South Shore, KY., one brother Russel Maddix of South Portsmouth, KY. James is also survived by two Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Monday, August 4, 2014 at South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church, 721 Main Street South Shore, KY 41175 with Pastor Aaron Reed, officiating. Burial will follow in MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY.
