James "Sonny" Greenslate, 73, of South Shore, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born April 16, 1940 in Greenup County, Kentucky, a son of the late Sam Greenslate and Roberta Elizabeth Church. Preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Zahn and Mary Lou Roe. Surviving are his wife Gloria Sowards Greenslate, three daughters, Mary Ann "Keith" Murphy, Patty "Randy" Breech and Cathy Freeman all of South Shore, Kentucky, five grandchildren, one brother, Ralph Reed of South Shore, Kentucky. Funeral services 1 P.M. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church, 721 Main Street, South Shore, Kentucky, with Brother Bob Davis, officiating. Burial in MT. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church from 11 A.M. till the Funeral hour at 1 P.M. on Friday. Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky are in charge of arrangements.
