Jack "Step Child" Russell as he was known by his many friends and motorcycle buddies passed from this life to his heavenly home. April 9, 2016 at SOMC Hospice.
Born September 26, 1935 in Scioto County, Ohio. The son of the late Elmer "Tug" and Marrie Russell.
Jack was a lifetime member of the Portsmouth motorcycle club, a Golden age member of the fraternal order of the Eagles and sons of the American Legion. Jack's love for motorcycles covers a span of fifty seven years. Over those years he was well known for his flat track racing.
Jack was retired from the Empire Detroit Steel Mill, where while working there became the youngest foreman. Jack had a great love for children. He taught many years throughout the many schools in Scioto County before retiring in 1996 from Grant middle school in Portsmouth, Ohio, where he coached boys basketball and taught special education.
Jack graduated from Clay High School in 1953 where he was known for his love of playing basketball. He attended Minford Community Church along with his wife before his illness put him in his bed. Now he's walking with his many friends and loved ones as he so much wanted to walk here on earth.
Jack leaves behind his loving wife Andra "Andie" Pennington Taulbee Russell, to whom he married June 28,1997. Daughters, Lisa (Ed) Roberts of Lucasville, Mary Here of Decatur. Son Aaron (Patty) Russell of Eau Claire MI. Granddaughter, Maggie Allen, .Grandsons , John Allen and Caleb Jenkins, Sister Vickie Rineheart of Wheelersburg, Nancy Farney of Lucasville, brother, John Conley of Aberdeen, Ohio.
Stepson, Don (Annette) Taulbee of Wheelersburg, Two step granddaughters, Faith Taulbee of Portsmouth, Hope Taulbee of Wheelersburg, one great- granddaughter, McKenna Grace, the apple of his eye.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson Brad Russell, his grandparents Aaron and Kathrine (Kate) Russell, who raised Jack for many years and whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services for Jack will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Ed Cox and Phillip Vassar, Officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky, where he will be laid to rest by a very special mom and "pap" Pennington to whom he loved and was given love. Friends may call the the Roberson Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 and from noon till the Funeral hour at 1 P.M. on Thursday.

To his many friends and neighbors who stepped in during his illness to give their love and support. To each one who called visited, who brought food, who sent beautiful flowers who lifted us up in your prayers
