Jack D. Jessie, 92, formerly of South Shore, Ky and Dayton, Oh, died December 27, 2018 in Frankfort, Ky. He was born March 20, 1926 in Olive Hill, Ky, a son of George Bernie Jessie and Effie Buckler Jessie.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy, owned and operated a grocery store in South Shore for several years and retired from the Chrysler Corp. in Dayton, Ohio. He was a Christian. He and Juanita enjoyed their church family in Dayton, camping on the Ohio River and traveling.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Juanita Traylor Jessie, daughter, Vicki Lynn Jessie, infant son, Charles Stephen Jessie, two brothers and seven sisters.

Survivors include his nephew, James Mitchell Henderson and wife, Barbara, of Frankfort, brothers-in-law, Roger Traylor of Florida and Estill Bentley of South Shore, Ky, and several other nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 12:00 noon at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky. Interment will follow at Hardin Cemetery,Siloam, KY.
