Ira Carl Boggs, 94, of Edgewater, Florida, a former resident of Firebrick, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord, Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 in Assisted Living Home in Edgewater, Florida. He was born Feb. 20, 1919 at Letitia, Kentucky, a son of the late Lebern Boggs and Dovie Pack Boggs.
He was a member of the Bithlo Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida, a member of the Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 of South Shore, Kentucky and a retired construction worker and Army Veteran.
Preceded in death by his wife, Audrey M. Bentley Boggs, April 28, 2004, one son Ira C. Boggs, Jr., Feb. 14, 1966, three brothers, Virgil, Clayton and James Boggs.
Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Vergne of Garrison, Kentucky, Shirley Owens of Edgewater, Florida and Theda Long of Scottsdale, Arizona, one son, Terry Boggs of Orlando, Florida, a brother, Paul Boggs of Troy, Ohio, four sisters, Imogene Taylor of Belleville, Ohio, Gathel Davis of Otway, Ohio, Kethleen Evans and Ada Moore both of Troy, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral services 1 P.M. Wednesday, at South Shore, Kentucky Old Regular Baptist Church, with Rev. Raymond Lewis, officiating. Friends may call at the Old Regular Baptist Church from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. on Tuesday and from 11 A.M. till the funeral hour on Wednesday. Burial in Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, Kentucky. Masonic services by Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 of South Shore, Kentucky, Tuesday at 8 P.M., Military Graveside Services by the James L. Flannery American Legion Post #276 of South Shore, Kentucky.
