Hershel Edward Rhoden, 72, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Aug. 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Greenup County, Kentucky July 14, 1945, a son of the late Joseph S. Rhoden and Thelma Royster Rhoden, retired from Columbus Asphalt Paving of Columbus, Ohio.

Preceded in death by one brother Rufus Rhoden.

Surviving are his wife, Tiney Rister Rhoden to whom he married, Dec. 3, 1993, three sons, Elvis Rister of Ashland, Kentucky, Jeff Rhoden of Morehead, Kentucky, Layton Rhoden of Lucasville, Ohio, two daughters, June Craft  of South Shore, Kentucky and Tonia Arnold of Sciotoville, Ohio,  six brothers, David Rhoden, Ronnie Rhoden, Virgil Rhoden Wayne Rhoden, Billy Rhoden and Zandle Rhoden all of Garrison, Kentucky, Marshal Rhoden of South Shore, Kentucky, one sister, Ruth Moore of Garrison, Kentucky and best friends, Winnie and Hannah Meadows, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Gary Vaughn, officiating. Burial will follow in Rhoden Cemetery, Garrison, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 10 A.M. till the Funeral hour at 1 P.M. on Tuesday.
