Harold Day, 79, of West Portsmouth, OH., passed away peacefully at his residence with his family by his side Friday, July 29, 2016. He was born in Portsmouth, OH., November 25, 1936 a son of the late Alonzo and Martha Butler Day. Harold was the owner of Day's Grocery in West Portsmouth, OH., where him and his wife Dottie enjoyed taking care of the community. Preceded in death besides his parents are one son Harry Stidham, one grandson Jeremy Loper, one brother Gene Day, two sisters Dixie Briggs and Pauline Day. Surviving are his wife Dottie Stidham Day whom he married March 23, 1973, five daughters Debbie "Neal" Baldridge of AR., Rhonda King, Kim Garthee, Cindy "Tommy" Gleim all of West Portsmouth, OH., and Teresa "Tim" Loper of Portsmouth, OH., two sons Ralph Stidham and Scott "Debbie" Stidham both of MD. He is also survived by a one daughter in law Gwinn Stidham of McDermott, OH., two brothers Charlie Day of Portsmouth, OH., Howard Day of Lexington, KY., two sisters Elva Thompson and Doris Thompson both of Portsmouth, OH., 19 grandchildren,  25 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Brothers Tim Loper JR, Randy Schintzius, Jason Blevins and Neal Baldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park in McDermott, OH. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home Monday, August 1, 2016 from 6 PM until 8 PM and from Noon till the funeral hour on Tuesday.
