Obituary

Harley A. Wamsley, 98 of South Shore, Kentucky passed away June 1, 2022 in Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born in Otway, Ohio, March 1, 1924, a son of the late Clyde O. Wamsley and Kathryn Hemming. Harley served in the U.S Navy in World War II serving in the South Pacific and was a Kentucky Colonel, also a 50 year member of the Hot Metal Printers of International Typographical Union Local 637.

Preceded in death by his wife, Helen N. Wamsley, 2006, one brother, Samuel Wamsley, two sisters, Dora Woodruff and Dorothy Kildahl, grandson, Brent Wamsley.

Surviving are two sons, Steven Wamsley of Greenup, Kentucky, David Wamsley of Stout, Ohio, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Charles Mallory, officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 till 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022 and from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Monday. Military graveside services by James Dickey American Legion Post 23, Portsmouth, Ohio.
