Rev. Gordon E. Boggs, 67, of South Shore, Ky., passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Letitia, KY., November 5, 1946 a son of the late Willard Boggs and Lenora Stone Boggs. Gordon was a retired Machinist from Norfolk and Southern Railroad in Portsmouth, OH., a minister for forty years most recently at Bonser Run Christian Baptist Church, he loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 47 years Sue Middleton Boggs of South Shore, KY., two daughters Christy "Donny" Newsome of South Shore, KY., and Shelli "David" Nichols of Piketon, OH., one brother Donald "Connie" Boggs of Wheelersburg, OH., two sisters Linda "Bob" Williams of Louisa, KY., and LaFanna McKenzie of Lloyd, KY. Gordon is also survived by his five loving grandchildren Jared Gammon, Colton Gammon, Jacob Nichols, Clay Newsome, and Collin Newsome. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Bonser Run Christian Baptist Church in Portsmouth, OH., with Rev. Danny Deck, officiating. Burial will follow at Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, KY. Friends may call at the church Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 6 P.M. till 9 P.M. and from 9 A.M. till the funeral hour on Monday.
