Gladys I. Roe, 72, of Portsmouth, Ohio passed away Dec. 7, 2014 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born Dec. 26, 1941 in Pike County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Charles Sparks and Mildred Diamond Sparks, a member of the Firebrick Christian Baptist Church, Firebrick, Kentucky. Surviving are two daughters, Gretta "Kurt" Schwarzwalder of Macomb, Michigan, Glenda "Royce" Boggs of Firebrick, Kentucky, two sons, Charles Roe of Portsmouth, Ohio and Jack Roe of Lake Orion, Michigan, three brothers, Charles "Bub" Sparks, Dock "Mick" Sparks both of Firebrick, Kentucky and Bobby Sparks of West Portsmouth, Ohio, four sisters, Ethel Lyons of Garrison, Kentucky, Donna Truman of Portsmouth, Ohio, Rosie Brown of Firebrick, Kentucky and Debbie Pope of South Shore, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, Erica Potter, Levi Burdette, Adam Ball, Cody LeMaster, Andrew Ball, Savannah Schwarzwalder, Logan Roe and Amanda Roe, four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her Husband, Donald Roe, Sept. 11, 1994, two brothers, Henry "Hank" Sparks and Donnie Sparks. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Raymond Lewis, officiating. Burial will follow in Firebrick, Cemetery, Firebrick, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 till 8 P.M. Wednesday Dec. 10, 2014 and from 9 A.M. till the funeral hour on Thursday.
