Geraldine Genevieve Faulkner Quillen, 96, of Rt. 7 South Shore, KY, passed from this life to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.  She was born in Jackson, Ohio, on February 17, 1919 to Lula Cooper Faulkner and Herschel Faulkner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Sherman Quillen to whom she was married for 62 years, her twin sister, Maxine Davis and her baby brother, Robert Dale Faulkner. Geraldine received her teaching certificate from Rio Grande College and began her teaching career in Ross County, Ohio.  She then relocated to Greenup County where her husband returned after World War II.  And she taught in the Greenup County School System for many years. She was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being part of the UMW organization and she belonged to the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron.  She was an avid Reds baseball fan and a UK basketball enthusiast but mostly she enjoyed being around her family and spending time with her loved ones. Surviving are her sister, Mary Ruth Riley of Chillicothe, Ohio.  Also surviving are her children, Sharon (Rancie) Hannah and James Roger (Vickie) Quillen of South Shore, KY., and Carol Jean Quillen Bass of Greenup, Ky.  Her grandchildren, James Roger Quillen II, Dr. Rancie (Tammy) Hannah of Raceland, KY., John T. (Karon) Hannah of South Shore, KY., AJ (Rachael) Bass of Flatwoodrs, KY., Joshua Bass of Greenup, KY. And Katie (Blake) Robinson of Ashland, KY.  And great-grandchildren, Sarah, Lauren, Trenton, Rancie Wayne Jr. (Emily) Hannah, Woody (Kayla) Rettig and Wesley Rettig, Brady and Kyleigh Robinson and Jacob Bass and great-great-grandchildren Lacey Hannah, Bentley and Nora Rettig. She also had several cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Rev. Charles Mowery and Rev. Kenneth Fox, officiating. Burial will follow in the Brickunion Cemetery, Greenup, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 and from 9 a.m. till the Funeral hour on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sunshine United Methodist Church or Community Hospice of Ashland.
